A Rapid Fire of Commitments
Colorado's football program has been on a recruiting tear, landing three new 2027 prospects in less than two days. The latest addition, three‑star cornerback Will Rasmussen from Orem, Utah, chose the Buffaloes over a slate of Power Five offers, marking the third commitment in a 36‑hour window.
Rasmussen, ranked No. 1,515 overall and No. 129 among cornerbacks by 247Sports, held offers from Oregon State, Utah, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and several other programs before committing to Colorado. His decision follows the earlier pledges of Ba'Roc Willis and Gabe Jenkins, both of whom also bring defensive versatility to the class.
What This Means for the Buffaloes
The influx of defensive talent reflects a strategic emphasis on building a balanced, hard‑hitting secondary for the future. With six 2027 commitments already secured, Colorado has surged past last year's single recruit at this stage, showcasing a recruiting staff that can attract talent from coast to coast.
All six pledges hail from different states, underscoring the Buffaloes' ability to cast a wide net while maintaining regional diversity. The class now includes four defensive players, a composition that could reshape the team's defensive identity in the coming years.
