Colorado’s football program received a double dose of good news as it added two prospects to its 2027 recruiting haul.
Drew Sapp, a three‑star edge rusher from the 2025 season, announced his commitment to the Buffaloes after a standout year that included 28 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks.
Sapp’s decision came after he weighed offers from Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt and several other programs, ultimately choosing the Pac‑12 powerhouse.
Joining him is Jayin Talib, an interior offensive lineman and nephew of former NFL standout Aqib Talib, who also pledged to Colorado despite holding scholarships from Memphis, NC State and Texas Tech.
What This Means for Colorado’s Future
The additions bring the Buffaloes’ 2027 class to 16 commitments, positioning the group at No. 33 nationally and fourth in the Big 12, a jump that reflects the program’s growing appeal under head coach Deion Sanders.
Sanders, who has been rebuilding the roster with an aggressive recruiting strategy, praised both players for their talent and character, suggesting that the new commits could help accelerate the team’s ascent in the conference.
Fans can expect to see Sapp and Talib integrated into the defensive line rotation next season, where their pass‑rushing and interior presence should provide depth and a boost to the front seven.
