Colorado State University’s Rams will take the field at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins on September 12, 2026, for a much-anticipated college football matchup against Southern Utah. The game marks the second home contest of the 2026 season and continues the university’s tradition of celebrating agriculture with its annual Ag Day festivities.
A New Era for the Rams
The Rams enter the contest undefeated after a commanding 35-13 victory over rival Wyoming in their season opener, giving them a perfect start heading into the second home game.
As part of Ag Day, the Rams will don throwback orange jerseys and host a barbecue during tailgating, creating a festive atmosphere that blends gridiron competition with community celebration.
Jim Mora, a seasoned coach with a combined 74-53 record over 11 seasons at UCLA, UConn and previously at CSU, is set to make his debut as the Rams’ head coach, bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the program.
DeLane Fitzgerald, in his fifth year as head coach of Southern Utah, guides an FCS program that currently stands at 1-1, having fallen to top-ranked Montana before rebounding with a high-scoring 47-42 win over Weber State.
Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. Mountain Time, with the contest broadcast on CBS Sports Network and streamed via Fubo TV, while radio listeners can tune in to 104.3 FM The Fan in Denver, 99.1 FM in Fort Collins, or the Varsity Network app. Tickets start at $20 and are available through CSURams.com/tickets. Canvas Stadium offers 36,500 seated capacity plus 41,000 standing-room spots, providing ample room for fans to enjoy the game and the surrounding Ag Day activities.
This will be the first meeting between the two programs, adding an extra layer of intrigue as the Rams look to extend their unbeaten streak against a Southern Utah team eager to prove its mettle on a larger stage.
