A Rebuilding Season
The Colquitt County boys basketball program is gearing up for a substantial overhaul as the 2026‑27 campaign approaches, having lost several key contributors from the previous roster.
Three All‑Region selections have departed, among them top scorers Cason Harden and Marcus Moore, who combined for more than 2,300 career points and anchored the team’s offense.
Cason Harden, the son of Coach Andy Harden, will continue his career at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, while Marcus Moore heads to Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina, seeking new challenges on the court.
With the departure of Zhi Alridge and Alexis Barge, the Packers must replace a sizeable portion of their starting lineup, opening opportunities for emerging talent.
Jalyn Pace is slated to assume a leadership role, and the coaching staff expects freshmen Kaden Span and Cade Calhoun to make immediate impacts as they adjust to the varsity pace.
Competition for minutes will also involve Ky Wallace, Athen Bennett, Brodie Stone, and Micah Robinson, all of whom are vying to contribute to the team’s resurgence.
Coach Andy Harden’s Vision
Coach Andy Harden, now entering his fifth season in his second stint with the program, emphasizes the development of young players and the cultivation of belief in the squad’s potential.
He notes that while the roster will look markedly different, the focus remains on building a competitive foundation that can sustain success beyond a single season.
