Colton Everett is back at Charleston Southern University, taking on the role of assistant coach for the men’s basketball program. After stints at several institutions, Everett rejoins the Buccaneers with a wealth of experience that promises to bolster the team’s strategy and performance.
A New Era of Strategy
During his most recent tenure at Ohio Dominican University, Everett helped the Panthers clinch 19 victories in the 2025‑26 season, the highest win total in school history. His contributions spanned offensive schematics, opponent scouting, and direct support for student‑athletes, underscoring his well‑rounded skill set.
Prior to that, Everett left his mark at Malone University, where he was part of back‑to‑back 18‑win seasons and a runner‑up finish in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament. His work there reinforced his reputation as a recruiter and tactician capable of elevating programs.
Everett’s earlier four‑year period at Charleston Southern, where he served as Director of Basketball Operations and interim assistant coach, culminated in the program’s first ever postseason win. That experience has now come full circle as he returns to the same staff.
His coaching journey began as a graduate assistant at Hawaii Pacific University, and he holds a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and a master’s from Hawaii Pacific University. Everett says he is eager to reconnect with the Buccaneer family and contribute to the next chapter of the program.
The university’s athletic director highlighted Everett’s blend of analytical insight and player development as a key factor in the team’s future success. Fans can expect a refreshed approach that builds on the foundation laid during his previous stint.
