Colton Everett Returns to Charleston Southern as Assistant Coach

A seasoned strategist rejoins the Buccaneers' staff, bringing a decade of experience and a proven track record of success.

A Decade of Growth

Colton Everett is once again wearing the Buccaneers’ colors, this time not as a player but as an assistant coach on the men’s basketball staff at Charleston Southern University.

His return follows a distinguished stint at Ohio Dominican University, where he helped the Panthers to a historic 19‑win season in 2025‑26, the most ever recorded for the program, while also shaping offensive schemes, scouting opponents, and supporting fundraising and student‑athlete services.

Before that, Everett contributed to back‑to‑back 18‑win campaigns at Malone University, guiding the Pioneers to a runner‑up finish in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament and honing his skills in recruiting, player development, and budget management.

Everett’s first period at Charleston Southern, from 2017 to 2021, was marked by a blue‑collar work ethic that helped the staff secure the program’s inaugural postseason victory, a milestone that still resonates with the university community.

His coaching journey began as a graduate assistant at Hawaii Pacific University between 2014 and 2016, where he gained early exposure to collegiate recruiting and program administration.

A 2013 graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Leisure Studies, Everett later earned a master’s in Elementary Education from Hawaii Pacific University in 2016, underscoring a commitment to both athletic and academic development.

Head coach Saah Nimley praised Everett’s values, highlighting his high character and relentless work ethic, and expressed enthusiasm about the veteran’s addition to the staff.

Everett said he is excited to return to a place that shaped his early career, eager to collaborate with Nimley and the current roster to build on the foundation they have begun.
