The Greenville Swamp Rabbits have secured a familiar face for the upcoming 2026‑27 campaign, announcing that forward Colton Young will return to the roster after a brief absence. The move, finalized this week, adds a proven scorer and playmaker to a team that has been steadily building momentum in the ECHL.
Young’s previous tenure with the Swamp Rabbits was marked by consistency and chemistry, as he tallied 45 points over 83 games during the 2023‑25 season. His ability to contribute both goals and assists made him a key component of the club’s offensive schemes, and his return is expected to provide a steady source of production.
Since leaving Greenville, Young has kept his game sharp across several professional leagues. In the 2024‑25 season he suited up for the Ontario Reign before being reassigned to the Norfolk Admirals, where he recorded six points in 11 regular‑season games and added five more in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Those performances underscored his adaptability and readiness for increased responsibility.
Young’s development began in the collegiate ranks at Colgate University, where he spent four seasons and helped the Raiders capture the 2023 ECAC championship. Over 134 games he amassed 82 points, showcasing a blend of speed, vision, and clutch scoring that caught the attention of ECHL scouts.
Beyond the ice, Young’s professional debut came on April 7, 2023, when he posted two assists against Orlando, signaling his arrival on the senior stage.
