Columbia’s baseball program has once again been celebrated for its scholarly achievements, earning the 2025‑26 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.
The honor is reserved for ABCA member programs that post a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and Columbia’s 3.46 average placed it among roughly 500 schools nationwide that received the distinction this year.
A Legacy of Recognition
The ABCA, a organization with roots dating back to 1949, has long been the premier voice for baseball coaching excellence, overseeing the nation’s oldest All‑America Teams and a suite of coaching accolades.
Beyond the academic award, the association administers regional coaching honors, maintains a Hall of Fame, and promotes an ethics in coaching award, reflecting its holistic view of the sport’s impact.
For Columbia, the repeated acknowledgment not only validates the work of its coaching staff and academic support but also sets a benchmark for student‑athletes striving to excel in both the classroom and the diamond.
