A Promising Selection
The Columbus Blue Jackets selected goaltender Pyotr Andreyanov with the 20th overall pick of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
At 19 years old, Andreyanov is viewed as a prospect with significant upside, standing 6‑foot‑2 and already drawing attention for his size and potential.
The Athletic’s senior hockey analyst Scott Wheeler ranked him fifth among all NHL goalie prospects, praising his statistical achievements.
In the MHL, he posted a 13‑8‑3 record with a .919 save percentage, 2.59 goals‑against average and three shutouts for Krasnaya Armiya Moskva, and added 13 VHL appearances with a .918 save percentage and 2.13 goals‑against average for Zvezda Moskva.
During the 2024‑25 season with Krasnaya Armiya Moskva he went 23‑6‑6, posted a .942 save percentage, a 1.75 goals‑against average and three shutouts.
The Blue Jackets have said they expect Andreyanov to be a key part of their roster in the future.
His performance in Russia’s junior and professional leagues has positioned him as one of the most promising goaltending talents to emerge from the country in recent years.
