Police responded to a call at a residence on the 900 block of North Fourth Street early Saturday morning, discovering a scene that would soon shock the neighborhood.

The victim, 45‑year‑old Tiffany Creech, was found with severe blunt force injuries; emergency personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

Michael Johnson, a 42‑year‑old man known to the victim, was taken into custody at the location and later charged with murder.

A juvenile who was also inside the home suffered injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Heather Creech, the victim’s sister, described her sibling as “a lovely person” and expressed disbelief at the violence that unfolded in what should have been a safe environment.
