The Victor Valley community is grappling with the sudden loss of Jhenéy Wallace, a 2024 graduate of Victor Valley High School who also wore the jersey for the Victor Valley College Women’s Basketball team. Her death, the result of a tragic car accident, has left friends, teammates and coaches stunned and grieving.
In the wake of the accident, a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 19, at Civic Center Park in Apple Valley. The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. and include a balloon release designed to honor Wallace’s memory and the impact she had on those around her.
Remembered for Her Spirit
Wallace’s mother, Tamara Wallace, described her daughter as a loving big sister, cherished granddaughter, niece, cousin, teammate and friend. Those close to her recall a young woman whose kindness and energy brightened every room she entered.
Coach Brandon Henderson praised Wallace for her leadership and the lasting influence she wielded on the girls’ basketball program. He noted that she earned All‑League honors throughout her athletic career and consistently represented Victor Valley High School with pride in a variety of activities.
