Community Soccer Festival Returns to Calvert City for World Cup Celebration

Youth tournament, food trucks, live music and a USA vs. Paraguay watch party aim to fund new mini pitches across western Kentucky.

A Celebration of Soccer and Community

Calvert City will host a World Cup Watch Party & Soccer Festival on June 12, bringing together families, players and fans for a day of competition and celebration in the heart of western Kentucky.

The festival kicks off with a Youth Small‑Sided Soccer Tournament from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., featuring teams from across the region battling on mini pitches set up for the occasion.

Food trucks will line the venue from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., offering a variety of cuisines, while live music performances run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., adding a festive soundtrack to the festivities.

Funding the Future of Soccer

All proceeds from the event are earmarked for the construction of new mini soccer pitches throughout Calvert City and the surrounding western Kentucky communities, a project that organizers say will provide lasting recreational space for youth.

The Calvert Area Development Association is partnering with the nonprofit Kick‑it‑Forward to manage the fundraiser, and is actively seeking sponsors, vendors and additional food‑truck operators to join the effort.

Volunteers are needed to help run the tournament and event logistics, and registration for those positions closes on June 5, giving community members a short window to sign up.
