Conner Giordano Appointed Head Coach of Prattville Christian Academy Boys’ Soccer

The new coach brings playing experience and a developmental vision as the program prepares for the Private School division in 2027

Prattville Christian Academy announced this week that Conner Giordano will take over as head coach of the boys' soccer program, succeeding longtime leader Mike Damron. The appointment comes as the school looks to strengthen its athletic offerings ahead of the team's entry into the Private School division of the Alabama High School Athletic Association in February 2027.

A Coach with Deep Roots

Giordano’s soccer pedigree stretches back to his high school days at Autauga Academy, where he helped the 2017 championship‑winning team as a center midfielder. That experience gave him a firsthand understanding of what it takes to win at the state level.

After graduating, Giordano transitioned into coaching, spending the 2026 season at the helm of the Panthers’ JV squad and earlier stints at other local programs. His hands‑on work with younger players has sharpened his ability to teach fundamentals while fostering a love for the game.

Building a Sustainable Program

In his new role, Giordano says his short‑term focus will be on developing core soccer skills and establishing a competitive edge against area rivals such as Alabama Christian Academy, Autauga Academy and Montgomery Academy. Long‑term, he envisions a program that not only wins games but also emphasizes player development and program sustainability.

The upcoming roster will feature a blend of youth and experience, including sophomore Nolan Courrier and junior Ethan Green, who are expected to play pivotal roles as the team gels.

Looking Toward February 2027

The Panthers will open their season in February 2027, entering a new Private School division that promises tougher matchups and greater visibility. Giordano is confident that the preparation he has overseen will position the team to compete and grow.

Community members and alumni have expressed optimism about Giordano’s leadership, citing his deep ties to the region and his commitment to building a program that reflects the school’s values.
