The Oilers captain uses the off‑season to unwind with his wife, Lauren Kyle McDavid, their Bernedoodle Lenard, and a close circle of friends, while maintaining a rigorous routine of fitness and recovery to stay ready for the upcoming campaign.
During a recent round, McDavid was surprised with his fifth Ted Lindsay Award, a testament to his on‑ice excellence. The celebration was brief, as he soon joined Zach Hyman in the Zach Hyman Celebrity Classic, a charity golf tournament that has already raised over $3 million for various causes.
The McDavids’ connection to Lake Muskoka runs deep; it is where they got engaged and later married. The tranquil Ontario lake remains a favored retreat, offering the family a chance to travel, relax and recharge away from the public eye.
Beyond the fairway, McDavid is a regular supporter of Edmonton‑based initiatives. He has backed the Ben Stelter School Fundraiser, which generated more than $285,000 for families battling cancer, and he recently donated $250,000 to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation through the CIBC Miracle Day event.
The Oilers’ community arm reached 65,449 children in 2025, a milestone that McDavid proudly highlights as he continues to blend his love for the game with a commitment to giving back.
