Connor Zilisch, the 2024 Watkins Glen debut winner, has agreed to a multi‑year contract that will see him join Hendrick Motorsports in 2028, taking over the iconic No. 48 Chevrolet from Alex Bowman.
A New Chapter for the No. 48
Zilisch arrives with a résumé that includes 13 O'Reilly Racing victories, ten of which came in a single season, as well as five ARCA triumphs in just nine starts. His versatility is further highlighted by class wins at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Sebring 12 Hours, underscoring a talent that transcends discipline.
Although his current campaign with Trackhouse Racing has been marked by eight DNFs and a solitary top‑ten finish at Sonoma, Zilisch remains focused on extracting learning from each lap, a process he describes as finding his footing in the highly competitive Cup Series.
Rick Hendrick, the veteran owner of Hendrick Motorsports, praised the young driver’s character and ability, stating that Zilisch possesses the talent to not only fill the seat but to help extend the storied legacy of the No. 48 within the organization.
The partnership with Ally, now a full‑season sponsor, adds a commercial dimension that aligns with the team’s ambition to blend performance with brand visibility, positioning the No. 48 as a centerpiece of a renewed era.
Looking ahead, the collaboration between the driver, the team and the sponsor is expected to translate into on‑track results that honor the history of the Chevrolet marque while charting a path for the next generation of American racing talent.
