A Week of Community Engagement
Coral Springs kicks off a vibrant stretch of community activities from September 8 through 10, inviting families and adults to explore a mix of sports, literature, performing arts, and nature‑focused gatherings across its libraries, gymnasiums, and cultural centers.
On Tuesday evening, Commissioner Shawn Cerra will lead a Let’s Move basketball session at the Coral Springs gymnasium, offering a lively hour and a half of drills and friendly competition for participants aged 12 and up, beginning at 6 p.m. and running until 7:30 p.m.
Later that same day, the Northwest Regional Library hosts the Book Warriors Book Club, where members will dive into *The River Is Waiting* by acclaimed author Wally Lamb, discussing themes of resilience and connection from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The evening’s cultural highlight arrives at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, where the weekday production of "One: The Musical" takes the stage; tickets are priced at $40 and attendees are invited to a post‑show meet‑and‑greet and Q&A session that deepens the theatrical experience.
Thursday morning brings a creative burst for the youngest residents as Parent ‘N Me Creative Labs & Story Time unfolds at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, offering an art and book activity tailored for children aged one to four from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., fostering imagination through guided storytelling and hands‑on craft.
The week concludes with an ecological talk by Kristen Hoss at the Coral Springs Garden Club meeting, held on the second Thursday at the Northwest Regional Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., where participants will explore ways to energize local ecosystems and engage in community stewardship.
