A Season to Remember
Craig Huxtable from Blacksburg has been crowned Virginia's High School Boys Soccer Player of the Year, a testament to a senior campaign that blended skill, leadership and relentless drive.
The midfielder’s brilliance was acknowledged with a suite of accolades, including River Ridge District Player of the Year, Region 4D Player of the Year and the prestigious Class 4 State Player of the Year.
Operating at the heart of the attack, Huxtable recorded 31 goals and added nine assists, orchestrating play from central midfield and consistently delivering match‑winning performances.
His statistical footprint extends beyond this season; over his high school career he amassed 72 goals and 35 assists, a body of work that placed him among the most prolific scorers in state history.
Looking ahead, Huxtable will join the Roanoke men’s soccer program, where coaches anticipate that his vision and finishing will immediately elevate the team’s competitiveness at the collegiate level.
