Iowa Speedway Delivers a Turn of Fate
The 23rd event of the season, the HyVee Perks 250 at Iowa Speedway, marked the penultimate points race before The Chase, leaving a single event to determine the final lineup.
Jesse Love’s No. 2 car suffered gear‑related trouble that sent him spinning and forced an early pit stop, dropping him from third to fourth and opening the door for Sheldon Creed to surge ahead.
An overtime caution at the front of the field sparked a multi‑car melee that rippled through the Chase cutline, knocking several contenders, including Brent Crews, William Sawalich, Taylor Gray and Rajah Caruth, into a tighter battle for the remaining spots.
The season will culminate with the Winn‑Dixie 250 at Daytona on August 28, a race that will award a maximum of 76 points and decide which drivers secure the last four positions in The Chase.
Current points leaders Justin Allgaier, Carson Kvapil, Sheldon Creed and Corey Day have already locked their spots, but the fight among the likes of Taylor Gray and Rajah Caruth remains fierce as they chase the final berths.
With only a handful of points separating those on the bubble, the Daytona showdown promises a dramatic finish to the regular season.
