Creswell Baseball Team Makes Historic Semifinal Run

A 24-6 season ends in a narrow loss, but the Bulldogs look toward a bright future

The Creswell Bulldogs baseball team made history this spring, reaching the Oregon School Activities Association state semifinals for the first time in school history. Their remarkable 24-6 record set a new standard for the program and sparked a wave of excitement throughout the community.

A Historic Run

The championship game pitted the Bulldogs against South Umpqua/Days Creek, where a 4-1 final score sealed a hard-fought loss. Junior left-hander Jaxon Pelham delivered a strong six-inning outing, allowing just two earned runs, while sophomore designated hitter Gavin Crowl contributed a double and a triple to the offense.

Senior third baseman Kayden Roberts also shone, going 3 for 4 with a double, and the team’s young core demonstrated depth beyond the headline names.

Coach Kevin Feist praised the effort of his players, noting the electric atmosphere as a packed crowd filled the stands for the semifinal. The community’s support underscored the significance of the run.

Despite the defeat, the Bulldogs finished the season with a record 24-6, the best ever for the program, and will return seven hitters and their two most productive pitchers next year.

Looking Ahead

With only four seniors on the roster, the team is positioned to build on this momentum, aiming to return to the championship stage in the coming seasons.
