Crystal Palace announced on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with Real Salt Lake to transfer Zavier Gozo for a fee of $15 million, a sum that eclipses the club’s previous transfer record.
The 19-year-old, who can operate as a wing-back, is expected to join the first-team squad for the upcoming preseason camp after completing his medical examinations in London.
Gozo’s rise has been rapid; in 16 appearances for Real Salt Lake this season he contributed six goals and five assists, showcasing a blend of elite athleticism, dribbling skill and an eye for goal.
Having made 50 first-team appearances for Real Salt Lake, the American prospect brings a proven track record in the final third, a quality that attracted the attention of several European clubs before the deal was sealed.
The transfer also reflects Real Salt Lake’s reputation for developing talent that moves on to bigger stages, a pathway that previously saw Andres Gomez join Rennes for $11 million in 2024.
