D1Baseball’s All‑America Second Team spotlight shines on two Florida standouts, pitcher Aidan King and utility player Brendan Lawson, who have been celebrated for their breakout performances in the 2026 campaign.
King, a unanimous All‑American, captured the SEC Pitcher of the Year award after a dominant season that saw him post eight wins, a 3.21 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP over 97 innings, while striking out 92 batters and walking just 19.
Opposing hitters managed only a .218 average against him, underscoring his command and effectiveness, and his eight quality starts — including six in SEC play — highlighted his consistency on the mound.
Lawson, meanwhile, anchored the Gators’ offense with a .511 on‑base percentage, .699 slugging percentage and a 1.210 OPS, delivering 19 home runs, 32 extra‑base hits and 68 runs scored while drawing 53 walks.
His 130 total bases and disciplined approach at the plate placed him at the top of the team’s statistical leaders and earned him a place on the All‑America Second Team.
Caden McDonald also received recognition, earning a First Team nod from the College Baseball Foundation and appearing on multiple Second Teams, further cementing Florida’s presence on the national stage.

The accolades extend beyond D1Baseball, with the American Baseball Coaches Association, Baseball America, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game all listing the Gators’ stars among their honorees.
