A Rising Star in the Futures Game
The National League will take the field at 11 a.m. on Sunday, broadcast live on NBC, for the All‑Star Futures Game, the premier showcase for the sport’s most promising talent.
Among the participants is Dakota Jordan, a fourth‑round draft pick of the San Francisco Giants in 2024, who will wear the Diamond Dawgs uniform as the league’s representative.
Jordan arrives after a breakout season with the Giants’ High‑A affiliate, the Eugene Emeralds, where he leads the Northwest League in home runs and has been named Player of the Week.
His stat line reads .290 batting average, 22 doubles, a triple, 18 homers, 66 RBIs and 15 stolen bases, complemented by a 1.462 OPS and a career‑high game that featured three homers and four RBIs against Spokane.
The performance continues a tradition of Mississippi State alumni excelling in the Futures Game, with Jordan becoming the seventh Bulldog selected, joining former standouts such as Paul Maholm, Hunter Renfroe, Dakota Hudson, Nathaniel Lowe, Ethan Small and Jurrangelo Cijntje, all of whom have advanced to the major leagues.
Coaches and analysts alike see Jordan’s combination of power and speed as a sign of the next wave of talent that could soon impact the Giants’ roster and beyond.
