Dallas Loughridge Joins Michigan Women’s Basketball Team

Australian guard brings WNBL experience and breakout accolades to the Wolverines

The University of Michigan announced the addition of guard Dallas Loughridge, a 22‑year‑old Australian who has spent the past few seasons competing in the Women's National Basketball League.

Loughridge arrives after a standout campaign in the NBL1 South, where she posted averages of 25.5 points, 5.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game and earned the 2026 Betty Watson Breakout Player of the Year award.

Her professional background includes stints with Adelaide Lightning, Southside Flyers, Casey Cavaliers, as well as overseas experience in the United States with the Washington Mystics, Toronto Tempo and Atlanta Dream.

Coach Kim Barnes Arico highlighted that Loughridge’s skill set adds depth and flexibility, allowing the Wolverines’ other guards to concentrate on their primary responsibilities.

A connection that spans continents

The new guard also shares a personal link to Michigan through former Wolverine Naz Hillmon, with whom she overlapped in the WNBL during the 2024‑25 season, adding a narrative thread that resonates with fans.

Loughridge’s international pedigree is expected to raise the competitive standard of the program and provide a veteran presence as the team looks ahead to the upcoming schedule.
