A Mission Beyond the Pitch
Sarita Prabhu and Jacque Kruppa, both practicing attorneys in Dallas, launched Dallas Soccer Scholars to remove financial barriers that keep talented youngsters out of competitive soccer.
The program offers scholarships that can cover the full $5,000 annual expense of elite soccer participation, a cost that often excludes families with limited means.
In its inaugural year the nonprofit has already welcomed 12 scholars, with additional applications pending for the 2026‑2027 season as the organization expands its reach across the Dallas metro area.
The fundraising target for the current cycle stands at $25,000, a figure that will sustain scholarships, equipment, and travel costs for the participants.
Eligibility and Impact
Prospective scholars must maintain a minimum 75 grade point average and commit to five hours of community service each year, ensuring that athletic development is paired with academic responsibility and civic engagement.
Beyond the field, Dallas Soccer Scholars emphasizes leadership training, teamwork, and community service, aiming to shape well‑rounded individuals who can contribute positively to their neighborhoods.
The organization serves Dallas‑area youths ages 10 through 18 who demonstrate financial need, providing not only a pathway to sport but also a framework for personal growth.
