Stars Secure Key Forward Talent
The Dallas Stars revealed on Tuesday that forwards Harrison Scott and Matthew Seminoff have each signed two‑year, two‑way contract extensions, keeping both players under contract through the 2027‑28 season. The moves underscore the organization's commitment to nurturing home‑grown talent and maintaining continuity within a roster that has shown steady growth over the past two campaigns.
Scott, 25, burst onto the professional scene with a breakout season for the Texas Stars, tallying 32 points on 18 goals and 14 assists. His performance placed him fifth on the team in shots on goal (122) and eighth in overall points, highlighting a blend of shooting accuracy and playmaking that the Stars hope will translate to the NHL level.
Seminoff, 22, was equally impressive, posting 50 points — 24 goals and 26 assists — while leading the Texas Stars with 153 shots on goal. His 24 goals and 153 attempts topped the team's offensive output for the 2025‑26 campaign, and his 74 career AHL points in 198 games illustrate a consistency that bodes well for his NHL prospects.
General Manager Jim Nill praised the signings, stating that the extensions reflect the club's confidence in the players' work ethic and offensive upside. "Both Harrison and Matthew have demonstrated the ability to contribute at a high level, and we are excited to see them develop alongside our core group," Nill said in the announcement.
The contracts also align with the Stars' broader strategy of blending youthful energy with veteran leadership. By retaining Scott and Seminoff, Dallas not only preserves its scoring depth but also reinforces a developmental pipeline that has proven effective in producing NHL‑ready talent.
