The Dallas Stars have named HNTB as the lead design firm for a new arena that will sit west of the Dallas North Tollway, forming the centerpiece of a mixed-use district that blends sports, retail, dining and public gathering spaces.

The venue is intended to be an intimate, high-energy home-ice environment that mirrors the fervor of the Stars' fan base while serving as a year-round destination for the surrounding community.
Tom Gaglardi, owner of the Stars, cited HNTB's track record of delivering top-tier NHL facilities, noting that the firm's collaborative approach aligns with the franchise's ambition to deepen its connection to North Texas culture.
HNTB brings extensive experience in sports-venue planning, having worked on several arenas that integrate architecture, planning and technical expertise to create enduring, human-centered spaces.
The project builds on the Stars' longstanding presence in the region since their 1993 relocation, a tenure marked by 21 playoff appearances, nine division titles and a Stanley Cup championship in 1999, while also fostering hockey growth across the southern United States.
