A Journey of Resilience
Dalton Risner grew up facing the sting of bullying, a experience that shaped his early resolve and later fueled his drive on the football field. He honed his skills at Kansas State University, where his performance earned him a spot in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The Denver Broncos selected him that year, and he subsequently signed with the Minnesota Vikings and the Cincinnati Bengals. Risner now calls Sarasota, Florida, home while maintaining ties to his Kansas roots in Overland Park, where he also owns a residence.
Beyond the gridiron, Risner gives back through a $5,000 annual scholarship awarded to a student at Wiggins High School, a program that reflects his belief in lifting others as he climbs. He also serves as a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics, volunteers at Camp Hope for children battling cancer, and supports the RiseUp Foundation.
His community impact was recognized when he was nominated for the 2022‑23 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Recently, he outran Bengals center Ted Karras in a 5K race organized for charity, underscoring his commitment to using his platform for broader causes.
Risner often speaks about the importance of giving back and making a positive impact on others’ lives. His story illustrates how personal adversity can be transformed into purposeful action, both within sports and in the wider world.
