Georgia Bulldogs baseball star Daniel Jackson has been crowned college baseball’s national player of the year by Perfect Game, capping a junior season that has already turned heads across the sport.
The junior is batting .389 and has already smashed 31 home runs, driven in 86 runs and stolen 29 bases, numbers that place him among the most dominant hitters in the nation.
His production has been a cornerstone of Georgia’s recent successes, helping the Bulldogs clinch the SEC title and earn a berth in the College World Series, where they are slated to open against No. 6 Texas.
Jackson is also a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the nation’s top collegiate player, with the winner set to be announced on June 29.
A place in history
Only three players in NCAA history have combined at least 30 home runs with 25 stolen bases, and Jackson’s name now sits among them, underscoring the rarity of his all‑around impact.
The buzz surrounding his performance has extended beyond the diamond, drawing attention from scouts, teammates and even rival coaches, all of whom recognize that the Bulldogs are riding a wave fueled by his extraordinary contributions.
