Keegan Brown, a data analysis and roster construction specialist, has become the latest addition to the University of Kentucky’s basketball operations, answering a call from head coach Mark Pope to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of name, image and likeness opportunities.
A Strategic Addition
Brown’s arrival signals a deliberate push by Kentucky to blend analytics with traditional scouting as the program seeks to stay competitive in a recruiting environment reshaped by NIL deals.
Prior to joining the Wildcats, Brown spent several years working alongside Pope at Brigham Young University and later in the NBA G-League, where he refined his skills in film breakdown, contract negotiations and player evaluation.
In his new role he will oversee analytics, manage agent relationships, coordinate contract structures and provide film analysis that informs both on‑court strategy and roster planning.
Expressing appreciation for the opportunity, Brown highlighted the collaborative culture he expects at Kentucky, while acknowledging that rumors about a potential general manager title have circulated but that his focus remains on supporting the team behind the scenes.
A Brigham Young University graduate, Brown brings a blend of academic rigor and practical experience that aligns with Pope’s vision for a modernized program.
The move underscores Kentucky’s commitment to leveraging data‑driven insights as the Wildcats aim to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.
