Arkansas baseball legend Dave Van Horn is set to join the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2027, a testament to a career that has reshaped collegiate baseball.
A career defined by excellence
Over three decades, Van Horn has compiled 1,518 career wins, the most among all active Division I head coaches, and guided the Razorbacks to eight College World Series appearances, 22 NCAA Tournament berths, and three SEC overall titles.
His teams have produced 43 All‑America honorees, 59 All‑SEC selections and 155 Major League Baseball draft picks, while he has mentored three Golden Spikes Award winners and two Dick Howser Trophy recipients.
Hall of Fame Banquet in Chicago
Van Horn will be honored at the ABCA Hall of Fame Banquet on January 8, 2027, in Chicago, where he will be celebrated alongside the sport’s most influential figures.
The induction underscores the high regard in which the ABCA holds Van Horn, who is one of only five head coaches in college baseball history with 300 or more SEC victories and one of just 12 coaches to lead multiple programs to the College World Series.
Legacy and future impact
Beyond the wins and accolades, Van Horn is celebrated for developing elite‑level student‑athletes who excel on and off the field. His influence continues to shape the next generation of coaches and players across the nation.
