David Atkinson has built a reputation as a versatile small forward who competes professionally around the world while also steering several business enterprises.
After a standout college career, he graduated from Salem University in 2015 and entered the draft where he was selected by the Saint John Riptide of New Brunswick, Canada, a team that competes in the National Basketball League.
A Journey Across Continents
His professional path has taken him from the fourth division of Spanish basketball with clubs Utrera and Adepla, to Indonesia’s top league where he wore the colors of Bima Perkasa, and later to Mexico where he suited up for Indios, Halcones Xalapa and Freseros.
In 2024 he concluded a stint in Rwanda’s elite division with Orion Kigali, demonstrating his ability to adapt to diverse basketball cultures and competitive environments.
Beyond the Hardwood
Off the court Atkinson channels his entrepreneurial spirit into multiple ventures. He co‑owns Texas Drug Screens, a San Antonio‑based clinic where he also serves as chief executive, and he fronts a clothing label called Apparel 28. Additionally, he is developing a creative initiative named Mystery World Stories, further illustrating his multidisciplinary ambitions.
