David Powlowski is set to begin the 2026‑27 season with the Colorado Springs team, taking on dual responsibilities as an assistant coach and director of hockey operations.
A versatile résumé
His career has spanned both the rink and the front office, most recently three seasons with the Rochester Jr. Americans of the NAHL where he served as assistant general manager and assistant coach.
During that tenure he specialized in developing defensive units, leading scouting initiatives and overseeing draft operations, while also signing player tenders and managing travel logistics.
He acted as a liaison between player agents, NCAA coaches and team management, ensuring smooth coordination across North America and Europe.
Before entering coaching, Powlowski worked in the medical field in Rochester after his playing days with the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League, bringing a health‑focused perspective to athlete preparation.
He pursued his undergraduate education at Nazareth College in Rochester, where he balanced hockey and golf while earning a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences in 2019.
As a four‑year letterwinner he amassed 53 points — 28 goals and 25 assists — over 100 career games, topping the Golden Flyers’ scoring charts in his junior and senior seasons.
His blend of analytical insight, operational experience and academic rigor positions him as a strategic asset for Colorado Springs as the program looks to sharpen its competitive edge.
