Dayne Beuker Joins Lethbridge Hurricanes
The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced the signing of 18‑year‑old forward Dayne Beuker to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement, a move that underscores the team’s commitment to bolstering its roster with top Canadian talent.
Beuker, a native of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, spent the past two seasons with the US National Development Program, where he recorded 61 points in 87 games during the 2025‑2026 campaign and helped the club to a championship finish. His performance earned him the 76th overall ranking among North American skaters by the National Hockey League Central Scouting Service for the upcoming 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
Expressing enthusiasm about the new chapter, Beuker highlighted the Hurricanes’ coaching staff, management, and fan base as key factors in his decision. “I’m excited to bring my work ethic and skill set to Lethbridge,” he said in a statement released on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes’ general manager praised the young forward’s potential, noting that his track record of leading teams to titles and collecting individual accolades makes him a valuable addition both on and off the ice.
Beuker’s father, Dean Beuker, a former WHL player who later pursued a career in CIS hockey, has been a steady influence throughout his son’s development, providing mentorship as the younger Beuker transitions to the professional ranks.
The organization also took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of the US National Development Program and the Humboldt Broncos, clubs that have played pivotal roles in shaping Beuker’s early career.
