Starting in 2027, DAZN will become the exclusive broadcaster of the Canadian Football League’s signature Saturday Night Football, delivering 21 consecutive weeks of regular‑season and playoff action.
A New Era for the CFL
The agreement marks a shift from traditional over‑the‑air arrangements, as DAZN will produce the telecasts with its own on‑air team and integrate a suite of digital tools aimed at deepening fan interaction.
Through its global platform, DAZN will stream every game free of charge to viewers outside Canada and the United States, while Canadian audiences will continue to access the content via the same subscription model.
Enhanced platform features will include FanZone live chat, dedicated fan spaces, highlights, breaking news, live scores and original programming, all designed to give supporters a more immersive experience.
CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnston expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that DAZN shares the league’s vision of modernizing the sport and expanding its reach.
Deidra Dionne, Head of DAZN Canada, highlighted the CFL’s passionate fan base and recent innovations, emphasizing the league’s growing appeal.
DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev underscored the league’s heritage, loyalty and increasing international interest, positioning the partnership as a milestone for Canadian football.
The deal reflects a broader trend of sports leagues seeking streaming partners that can deliver global reach and interactive features, positioning the CFL to expand its footprint beyond North America.
