Danville Christian Academy hosted its annual DCA Summer Basketball Camp, a four‑day program that attracted roughly thirty young athletes eager to sharpen their game and grow in a supportive environment.
The campers, all boys entering grades four through nine, spent each morning working on fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting and team play. Afternoon sessions featured daily competitions that turned practice into playful challenges, keeping energy high and progress measurable.
Mentorship from the Pros
Current Warriors players and coaches joined the camp to share insights from the professional ranks, offering hands‑on guidance inside the DCA gymnasium. Leading the instruction was Coach Stephen Busick, whose leadership blended technical instruction with a genuine commitment to each participant’s growth.
Beyond basketball drills, the camp emphasized mentorship and character development. On the final day, campers gathered for a moment of reflection, huddling with players and coaches for a prayer that underscored the community’s shared values.
The blend of skill work, competitive play, and personal mentorship left a lasting impression on the participants, many of whom left the court with new confidence and a deeper love for the sport. As the camp wraps up each summer, it continues to reinforce Danville Christian Academy’s role as a hub for youth development and athletic excellence.
