Early Sunday morning, a collision on the eastbound lanes of the Belt Parkway near exit 21B in Queens turned violent when a suspect brandished a baseball bat against the drivers involved.
When officers arrived, they found a 47‑year‑old man unconscious with severe head trauma and a 39‑year‑old passenger with minor arm injuries. The older victim, identified as Crisanie Dockery of Springfield Gardens, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The younger man was treated on the scene for his wounds and released, while the suspect fled before law enforcement could secure the area.
Investigation Ongoing
Detectives believe the assault was motivated by the earlier crash, with the attacker becoming enraged and striking the victims with the bat. No description of the suspect has been released, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
