A Season of Milestones
Dee Kennedy, the Kansas State shortstop, was selected to the Second Team All-American roster by both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game, a testament to his dominant performance in the 2026 campaign.
His .357 batting average, .461 on-base percentage and .733 slugging percentage placed him at the top of the Wildcats’ lineup, while his 20 home runs and 22 stolen bases highlighted a rare blend of power and speed.
Kennedy’s 79 hits and 69 RBIs underscored his role as the team’s offensive engine, and his .733 slugging percentage ranks fourth in school history for a single season.
National Recognition and Awards
The junior earned ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-Region honors and was named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, the Dick Howser Trophy and the Brooks Wallace Award, cementing his status among the nation’s elite.
Baseball America’s Top 200 prospect list positioned him at No. 55, and he became only the fifth player in Big 12 history to log a 20-home-run, 20-stolen-base season.
Under head coach Pete Hughes, the Wildcats secured their fourth straight 30-win season, finishing 30-27 overall and 11-19 in Big 12 play, a milestone that reflects the program’s consistent development.
Kennedy joins a distinguished lineage of K-State All-Americans, joining four previous honorees and contributing to a legacy that includes four Freshman All-Americans under Hughes’ guidance.
