Sanders described the squad as 'pretty good,' emphasizing its smartness, toughness, speed and discipline, and noted that the linebackers, cornerbacks and safeties rank among the team's strongest units.
He pointed to the offensive line as a particular area of depth, suggesting a rotation of eight to nine starters could be employed to keep fresh legs on the field.
While he kept specific names under wraps, Sanders hinted at surprises along the defensive line, adding that the unit will bring unexpected versatility.
Among the standout players he highlighted was Boo Carter, a third‑year defensive back praised as the best athlete on the roster and projected as a first‑round NFL draft pick.
Chauncey Gooden, who encountered a practice miscommunication, received an emotional boost from Sanders, who said the player is 'killing people' in practice, underscoring the supportive environment.
