A season of promise
Denison’s football program has cemented a remarkable streak, securing its twelfth straight winning season in 2025 and finishing the year with a 6‑4 overall record.
The offense exploded for an average of 31.2 points per game, a mark that rewrote the school’s record books under the guidance of quarterback Tyler Green and wide receiver Grayson Kerscher, who combined for a dynamic passing‑and‑receiving duo.
Kerscher, now a senior, capped his collegiate career by topping the North Coast Athletic Conference in both receiving yards (1,239) and yards per catch (15.9), underscoring his status as one of the conference’s most potent threats.
Defensively, the Big Red continued to dominate, forcing opponents under 20 points in four contests, including victories over Oberlin and Wooster, while compiling twelve interceptions and earning four All‑NCAC selections.
The schedule this fall features marquee road trips to face Hope College, Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan and a rematch with Wittenberg, a team that fell to Denison in 2025, providing early tests of the squad’s championship mettle.
Preseason expectations placed Denison fifth in the North Coast Athletic Conference Coaches’ Poll with 57 points, a positioning that reflects both respect for past achievements and optimism for a title run.
Six All‑NCAC performers from the 2025 roster will return, among them Grayson Kerscher, Brady Moffitt, Nick Pellicciotta, Ben Perin, as well as teammates Colton Morrow and Drew Duffy, who add depth on both sides of the ball.
Coaches and analysts alike highlight the blend of experienced leadership and emerging talent, noting that the chemistry forged during the previous season could translate into a decisive advantage as the conference schedule unfolds.
Looking ahead
With the conference’s competitive balance shifting, Denison’s blend of high‑octane offense and disciplined defense positions the team to challenge for the top spot in the NCAC, a goal that has eluded the program in recent years.
The upcoming season will not only test the squad’s depth but also serve as a showcase for the liberal arts values that define Denison athletics, where academic excellence and athletic ambition intersect.
