Hamlin’s Vision for Modern NASCAR
Denny Hamlin, a veteran driver with a strong record at Charlotte Motor Speedway, is set to join The CW’s broadcast team for the upcoming O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race this Saturday.
In a recent interview, Hamlin urged fans to stop fixating on where announcers are seated, stressing that the quality of commentary matters far more than the physical location of the broadcast booth.
Currently second in the Cup Series points standings behind his 23XI Racing teammate Tyler Reddick, Hamlin has led 624 laps this season — the most of any driver in the garage — and captured a $1 million All‑Star victory at Dover last week.
His performance at Charlotte is nothing new; since 2020 he holds a 3.8 average finish at the track and famously won the 2022 Coca‑Cola 600, a race known for its day‑to‑night transition and unique challenges.
The CW’s coverage will feature a six‑race rotation that includes other active Cup stars such as Ross Chastain, Kyle Busch, Bubba Wallace, AJ Allmendinger and Connor Zilisch, giving viewers a fresh perspective from drivers who still compete at the highest level.
Off the track, Hamlin hosts the Actions Detrimental podcast through Dirty Mo Media, where he breaks down races every Monday, further cementing his role as a bridge between the sport and its audience.
With his blend of on‑track experience and media savvy, Hamlin hopes to reshape how fans engage with NASCAR, focusing on the racing itself rather than peripheral details.
