A Fresh Batch of Talent
DePaul University's women's soccer program received a boost as head coach Michele O'Brien unveiled the 2026 signing class, a cohort that blends eight incoming freshmen with a single transfer. The announcement underscores the Blue Demons' commitment to building on recent successes while reinforcing the culture that has defined the program.
Among the newcomers, Sophia Holtzman arrives after a prolific freshman season at Florida Gulf Coast, where she netted four goals and quickly became an offensive threat. Joining her, Savannah Mittelstaedt brings a pedigree of three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association Division I state championships and multiple All‑State honors, signaling a defensive stalwart ready to anchor the back line.
The class also features Katelyn Haiser, who tallied 49 goals and 14 assists during her junior and senior years, and Carolina Capizzi, a Girls Academy National Champion with Galaxy SC. Additional signees include Riley Vinson, a Virginia All‑District and All‑Region selection, Emma Strcic, who helped her club to a 20‑0‑3 record, Emma Gronlund, the Rookie of the Year in the ECNL, Olivia Hoffmann, a four‑year varsity letterwinner from Cherry Creek High School, and Molly Nelson, who posted eight saves per match and eight shutouts at Hawken School.
Coach O'Brien emphasized that the blend of returning leadership and this dynamic influx of talent will add depth and energy to the squad. By aligning each recruit with the program's standards, the coaching staff aims to sustain the Blue Demons' upward trajectory and compete fiercely in the upcoming seasons.
