DePaul University’s women’s soccer team kicked off a two-game road stretch on Sunday, traveling to Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Missouri, to meet the Lindenwood Lions in their first away contest of the season.
A Early-Season Momentum
The Blue Demons arrived fresh off a 2-1 victory over Denver, a win that showcased the attacking trio of Katelyn Haiser, Shayna da Silva and Dory Latenser. Haiser struck the decisive goal in the 68th minute, while Latenser opened the scoring in the 47th and da Silva converted a penalty later in the match. Goalkeeper Mason Hillary logged all 180 minutes, making five saves to preserve the lead.
Lindenwood, still searching for a reliable source of goals, have struggled to find the net in recent outings. Their last match ended 1-0 after Mackenzie Compton’s solitary strike, and goalkeeper Carolina Ritter has already turned in 15 saves while conceding six goals across three appearances. The Lions will be hoping to reverse a trend that has seen them drop points in each of their last three fixtures.
The upcoming clash marks the third meeting between the programs, with DePaul holding a 2-0 edge in the series history. Previous encounters in 2022 and 2024 ended 3-1 and 2-0 in favor of the Blue Demons, underscoring a competitive edge that the Chicago-based squad hopes to extend.
