A Fresh Face in the O'Reilly Series
Derek Lemke, a 32‑year‑old Minnesota native, is set to make his debut in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series this weekend at Iowa Speedway. The appearance comes after a modest Truck Series campaign that saw him finish 33rd and 31st at Nashville Superspeedway in May 2026, and it marks his first competitive start since a 21st‑place finish in the series back in 2023.
Lemke will drive the No. 91 Chevrolet for DGM Racing in partnership with Jesse Iwuji Motorsports. The car has already seen action this season with drivers such as Mason Maggio, Ross Chastain and Carson Kvapil, but Lemke brings a fresh perspective to the lineup as the series heads into its final stretch.
Broadcast Details and Stakes
The event, known as the Hy‑Vee PERKS 250, will be televised live on The CW Network at 5:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 8. While Natalie Decker continues a limited schedule for Joey Gase Motorsports, Lemke's participation adds a new narrative to the weekend's on‑track action.
Series officials have confirmed that Lemke does not have any additional races scheduled for the remainder of 2026, making this Iowa start a singular opportunity to showcase his abilities on a national stage. The race will feature a mix of veteran talent and emerging drivers, all competing under the banner of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series.
