DeSales Women’s Basketball Earns WBCA Academic Honor Roll Mention

Team GPA of 3.364 lands Bulldogs in special mention as WBCA celebrates academic excellence

DeSales University’s women’s basketball program has once again been celebrated for its commitment to scholarly excellence, earning a place on the 2025‑26 WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll.

The recognition, announced by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, highlights teams that combine competitive spirit with strong classroom performance across NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and two‑year colleges.

A GPA That Almost Made the Cut

The Bulldogs posted a collective grade point average of 3.364 during the 2024‑25 academic year, a figure that placed them just outside the Top 25 and earned them a ‘Special Mention’ designation.

While the team fell short of the elite 25‑team threshold, the achievement underscores a broader trend of programs prioritizing academic metrics alongside athletic success.

WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew praised the honorees, stating that their dedication to excellence on the court and in the classroom sets a standard for the sport.

This year’s honor roll marks the 31st edition of the WBCA’s academic lists, with a total of 119 teams spanning all five collegiate membership divisions receiving recognition.
