Devean Isaac, once sidelined by two serious knee injuries, has emerged from Midwestern State University with a bachelor's degree in education, capping a collegiate career that blended athletic grit with academic perseverance.
The road to graduation was anything but smooth. After enduring multiple surgeries and a period of academic uncertainty, Isaac leaned on a deep personal faith and the steady guidance of coach Rich Renner, whose mentorship proved pivotal in keeping him focused both on the field and in the classroom.

An internship with MSU Athletics gave Isaac the chance to sharpen the very skills he hopes to bring to a future career in sports administration. The experience, coupled with his unwavering determination, helped him turn setbacks into stepping stones toward a broader vision.
Looking ahead, Isaac plans to pursue a master's degree in sports administration while keeping his eligibility for football in 2026. He is eager to contribute to the revival of the Mustangs program, starting with the season opener against Missouri Southern at Memorial Stadium, and to eventually earn a conference championship ring with his teammates.
