Devlan Daniel Earns Spot in USA Baseball 18U National Team Trials

The Indian Hill senior, Ohio's top high school baseball player, will compete for a chance to represent Team USA

A Family Affair

Devlan Daniel, a senior at Indian Hill High School, has earned an invitation to the USA Baseball 18U National Team Trials scheduled for July 15‑21 in Cary, North Carolina. The event gathers the nation’s top 80 prospects, each hoping to catch the eye of selectors who will later trim the field to 40 athletes for an August training camp.

The ultimate prize is a spot on the 18U national team that will travel to Florida from October 22‑29 to compete internationally. Daniel’s selection places him among the elite group vying for that rare opportunity.

Daniel has committed to Mississippi State University, where he will continue his baseball career while pursuing his education. His father, Cary Daniel, who also coaches him at Indian Hill, believes the invitation reflects the hard work Devlan has displayed during recent showcases, including a standout performance at the Perfect Game National workout.

Indian Hill’s athletic director, Brian Phelps, praised Daniel’s dedication, noting that his excellence on the diamond is matched by his commitment in the classroom and on the football field, where he will return as a returning Division IV first‑team all‑state quarterback. This summer, Daniel has also traveled to Georgia, attended the East Coast Pro showcase in Alabama, and is slated to compete in the Area Code Baseball Games in California.

Balancing a demanding baseball schedule with the upcoming football season, Daniel remains focused on his goals, cherishing the moment of wearing the USA uniform while staying grounded in his responsibilities at school and with his family.
