Dexter High School’s New Field Lights Up September Kickoff

Community-funded project illuminated by T-Mobile grant and Varney Chevrolet sponsorship

A New Era for Dexter Football

Dexter Regional High School is putting the finishing touches on a $250,000 lighting upgrade for its football field, a project made possible by a $75,000 grant from T-Mobile and $175,000 raised through community efforts.

The first game under the new lights is scheduled for September 4, when the Tigers will host the Stearns Minutemen in a rematch of last year's regional championship. The evening will mark a milestone for the school's athletic program and draw attention to the town's growing sports culture.

Varney Chevrolet has come on board as the event's sponsor, ensuring that admission remains free for all fans. The first 300 attendees will receive a $10 food voucher, and the festivities will include live music and kid‑friendly games, creating a family‑oriented atmosphere.

Adam Gudroe, the school's athletic director, expressed excitement about the transformation, noting that the upgraded field not only enhances the game‑day experience but also provides a modern facility for practices and community events.
