Dieter Lotulelei Commits to Arizona Wildcats

Three‑star edge prospect chooses Tucson over several Pac‑12 rivals

Dieter Lotulelei, a three‑star edge prospect from Utah, has officially pledged to join the Arizona Wildcats football program. The 6‑foot‑3, 225‑pound athlete from West High School in Salt Lake City announced his commitment on Tuesday, selecting Tucson over a list of suitors that included Auburn, Boise State, Colorado, Houston, Oregon State, UNLV and Washington State.

A Recruit with a Proven Track Record

During his junior season Lotulelei recorded 40 tackles, 17 of which came for a loss, and added 8.5 sacks along with three forced fumbles. His production built on a strong sophomore and freshman campaign in which he amassed 48 combined tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 10 sacks across 15 games.

The recruit entered the market with 11 reported offers, but his final decision hinged on the fit he found at Arizona. Coaches highlighted the program’s defensive scheme and the opportunity for immediate playing time as key factors in his choice.

National rankings place Lotulelei as the 1,556th overall prospect, the 118th edge player and the 27th best athlete in Utah according to the Composite. Internally, 247Sports ranks him as the 117th edge nationally and the 26th top player in the state.

His commitment is expected to bolster Arizona’s defensive line depth and add a versatile pass‑rusher to the roster. The Wildcats’ coaching staff expressed enthusiasm about integrating his size and skill set into their upcoming schemes.
