Dillon Dube, the Canadian forward who was acquitted of sexual assault charges tied to the 2018 World Junior Championships, has agreed to a one‑year deal worth $850,000 with the St. Louis Blues.
Following his legal clearance, Dube spent the 2024‑25 season alternating between the KHL’s Dinamo Minsk and the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds, where he recorded 20 goals and 37 points, underscoring the offensive upside that made him a second‑round pick of the Calgary Flames in 2016.
A New Chapter in St. Louis
Blues general manager Alexander Steen highlighted Dube’s sincerity and humility, emphasizing that the organization is eager to give him a second chance and that his character fits the team’s culture.
Dube’s professional résumé includes 57 goals and 127 points across 325 NHL games with the Flames, as well as back‑to‑back 18‑goal seasons that demonstrated his scoring consistency before the legal saga temporarily derailed his career.
The NHL reinstated Dube and four fellow acquitted players in September, and the 27‑year‑old is now reporting to training camp with the explicit goal of securing a spot on the Blues’ opening‑night roster.
