Dior Curtis has been appointed head coach of the Murray High School Tigers boys’ basketball team, marking his return to the program where he first led the squad from 2017 through 2024. His appointment was announced alongside his new responsibilities as Athletic Director for the district.
A Legacy Rekindled
During his earlier tenure, Curtis built one of the most successful periods in recent Tigers history, posting a 142‑72 record and capturing a 2022 First Region Championship, a Sweet 16 appearance, three Fourth District titles, and five Kentucky "A" Classic Region 1 championships. His efforts earned him First Region Coach of the Year honors.
Before coming back to Murray, Curtis spent several years at Christian County High School, where he guided the Colonels through a rebuilding phase and laid a foundation for future success. His experience there complemented the preparation for his return to Murray.
In his dual capacity, Curtis will work closely with District Athletic Director Ann Greenfield to strengthen athletic programs across the district and support student‑athletes. He will also serve as an Alternative Education Teacher, providing academic and behavioral support to students who need it.
Curtis expressed humility and excitement about the opportunity, stating that he looks forward to building on Murray’s legacy while continuing to develop both athletic and educational initiatives.
